Favourite Updo Wedding Hairstyles

So many brides choose to wear their hair in an updo on their wedding for the reason that no other hairstyle works better to pull together a formal look.  To get instant elegance on your big day, we hope you find some great ideas in our picks below.  Here are our favourite updo wedding hairstyles….

This updo has beautiful waves piled loosely at the crown of the head with loose pieces hanging down to frame the face.  This look is light, romantic and not too structured.

 Here is a similar style to the one above but is done with shorter hair that has more layers.  The straighter pieces at the front give a nice modern look to the style.

This is a third example of an updo gathered at the crown of the head.  This look is much more structured than the ones above and gives a classic formal look.

The next three examples are variations on the the classic bun gathered at the base of the head.  The style pictured below is quite unique and striking. Straight hair is gathered in sections and secured to produce a woven effect.  Sparkling flower hair accessories complete the look.

Below is another great example of a low-set bun with an interesting braid detail.

We love the simplicity of this style, which is essentially a low ponytail with the ends pinned up.  You can dress it up as much or as little as you like and it is sure to look elegant.

This updated beehive with beautiful hair accessory is our favourite pick of the bunch.  This is a bold and confident hairstyle that is thoroughly modern yet timeless.

Here is another striking take on the updated beehive.  Height is worked into the crown of the head while hair is swept sleekly to the side at the front.
